CHITTAGONG: NEW PORT REQUIREMENTS FROM 1 OCTOBER 2018

All ships calling at Chittagong must comply with the following regulations that were adopted on 1 October:
- The agent of any ship with a draft more than 9.5m must notify the outer anchorage cell three days before arriving at the outer anchorage to see if there is sufficient space available.
- Pilotage is ‘highly recommended’ for all ships with a draft more than 9.5m and for all ships that are manoeuvring in the outer anchorage.
- Ships with drafts of more than 9.5m are advised to use Chittagong port radio for guidance with finding a suitable position to anchor.
