ARGENTINA: RIVER NAVIGATION REGULATIONS

Correspondents in Argentina have advised that local Coastguard authorities have recently carried out a number proceedings against ships that have allegedly breached local speed regulations, with large fines being imposed. The CG is also entitled to detain any foreign vessel in which an infringement was committed until the fine is paid or appropriate security obtained.
