US: WEARING FACE MASKS COMPULSORY IN US PORTS

Following President Biden’s Executive Order in January, the US Coast Guard has issued a Marine Safety Information Bulletin reminding all those traveling on Commercial vessels to wear a face mask in order to mitigate the risk of spreading COVID-19.  The Center for Disease Control and Prevention also issued a similar order, requiring operators to use ‘best efforts’ to ensure that people wear masks.  The Captain of the Port may issue an order to those not complying and they could face civil penalties and/or criminal action.
